Fell in love with the city of Pittsburgh on this road trip. I could live at this ballpark. I haven’t quite made it to all of the stadiums yet, but PNC Park sailed up to the top of my list.
The tour started out in the left field bleachers where the Pirates players were warming up before the game with the Brewers on September 18, 2017.
The first stop was in Legacy Theater and Museum. The hidden part of the park because only people who tour the stadium can go inside. They show a video of the clubhouse tour (since the team was home), and told us the history about the organization and timeline of events that have occurred. There are three lockers on display in the museum, which are actual lockers from Forbes Field, Three Rivers Stadium, and PNC Park. My favorite part of the museum was the game-worn jersey of Roberto Clemente.

Up to the club level we went to get some of the best views of PNC Park with the Pittsburgh skyline. The club was filled with memorabilia and batting championship awards with a few bars and pool tables throughout.
Down to the lower level and onto field level we went for warmups and batting practice. The Pirates bat first and then the Brew Crew took the field.
Former Pittsburgh Pirate fan favorite who played for the Mets before being traded to the Brewers this past August stopped by for a picture.
Former Pittsburgh Pirates lanky, sidearm-throwing closer, Kent Tekulve is in his final year as a broadcaster/analyst for the team. He will continue to serve as special assistant for the club during Spring Training.
With no Starling Marte, Francisco Cervelli, or Josh Bell in the lineup the Pirates offense certainly looked weak, falling in a 3-0 shutout to the Brewers. The “Steroid” chants blared in the air as Brewers left fielder, Ryan Braun stepped to bat as he delivered for a home run that basically ended the game. The views of the park kept me from calling an Uber in the 5th inning the way things were going.
The game also featured 23 year old left-handed reliever from the Milwaukee Brewers, Josh Hader. I went behind the bullpen to capture a video of him warming up before entering the game.
Overall, PNC Park was phenomenal. Anytime you are in the Pittsburgh area I strongly encourage you to book a tour and check out one of Major League Baseball’s best stadiums.
